Custom Portraits

I'm starting to sell custom portraits. The portraits are created off of a photograph. They are done on acid free 100 lb paper using graphite pencil. I include a white mat and backing board. Please contact me with any questions or interest or to see some examples. I will be adding some examples to my work page soon.

Opening

I just want to thank everyone for coming to my opening. It was great to have you all there to show your support. I hope you had a good time as well and enjoyed what you were looking at. My paintings will be at Roast till March 12th.

New show.

This past Saturday I put some paintings on display at Roast, Inc. which is a coffee shop located on the corner of Maryland and Locust. Luckily I had some help since I banged my knee up pretty good. The paintings are hanging there till March 12th.

More paintings

I added two more paintings today. They are the green pieces at the bottom of the painting section. I will try to add three more on Wednesday after I take the pictures. I'm working on setting up a show as well. More details to come this week regarding the show.

finally

I have finally figured out how to add some new drawings. Eventually this will be second nature but for not it will take some time. I will be adding some new paintings in the next few days.

The meaning behind "Two"

This particular painting was with me for some time. I had made some quick sketches of people and began simplifying the form. I never really did anything with it for some time but always liked the concept. Finally, I came up with the red shape in the picture. It's an embrace with a shadow. I see it more as two people in a private moment where everything around them kind of disapperars, at least all forms. I kept a lot of texture around the forms as a representation of the chaos that is always going on but since there's no recognizable images the importance of the chaos is gone. The only thing important is the two people.
